# Tools

Tools that start work return an ID. Use [`get_job` or `get_export`](/api/jobs) to follow it. Check [`get_account`](#account) before a big run.

## Account

| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| `get_account` | Shows your plan, AI credits left this period, and storage used. |
| `list_apps` | Lists your apps, newest first. |
| `list_styles` | Lists screenshot styles, video styles, and export sizes with their IDs. |

## Apps and files

| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| `create_app` | Creates an app. The Free plan allows one app. |
| `list_assets` | Lists the files uploaded to an app. |
| `upload_asset` | Adds a file from a public `https` URL, or as base64 with a file name and MIME type. |
| `import_from_app_store` | Copies the public App Store listing of an app into yours. |
| `delete_asset` | Permanently deletes an uploaded file. It fails if the file is the app icon or is used in a project. |

## Generate

| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| `generate_screenshots` | Starts the AI to build a screenshot set from your uploaded screens. Costs 50 credits, plus 100 with `illustrate`. |
| `generate_video` | Starts the AI to build a promo video storyboard. Costs 50 credits. Free plan videos are limited to 15 seconds. |
| `create_mockup_video` | Makes a short video of one screenshot or recording in a phone with a motion preset. No credits. |

## Edit

| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| `list_projects` | Lists the screenshot sets and videos of an app. |
| `get_project` | Shows a project's style, languages, and the text of every scene with its layer IDs. |
| `set_text` | Changes headlines, subheads, or badges using layer IDs from `get_project`. |
| `set_template` | Switches a screenshot set to another style. Not for videos. |
| `translate_project` | Translates all text into another language. Costs 25 credits. Needs a paid plan. |
| `remove_language` | Removes a language you added. English cannot be removed. |
| `validate_video_export` | Checks a video against the App Store preview rules before you export. |

## Export

| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| `export_project` | Starts an export of PNG screenshots or an MP4 video. On the Free plan exports have a watermark and cost 100 credits. Paid plans export for free. |
| `get_export` | Shows the export state and download links when it is done. |
