Authentication

Connect to the Appfly MCP server with OAuth or an API key.

Updated View as Markdown

The server accepts two kinds of credentials. Both are sent as a bearer token and both act as your account.

OAuth

An MCP client that supports OAuth finds the sign-in flow from the server’s 401 response. It then opens an Appfly page where you check the access and click Allow. You do not copy anything.

API key

Create a key in Developer API and send it on every request:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

A key belongs to you, not to one app. It can work in all your apps and spend your credits. Keep it out of Git, public prompts, and shared screenshots.

Requests without credentials

A request with no valid token gets 401. The WWW-Authenticate header points to the OAuth metadata so a client can start the sign-in flow.

See Connect an AI agent for client setup.
